Ibridi perpetui

Reine des Violettes

(Millet Malet, 1860)

Strong erect canes with a soft foliage and deep red-violet [the flowers] pass through every shade of purple, lavender and violet with greyish touches as they mature the quarted flowers look like a bourbon or a gallica... Needs plenty of nourishment and good soil, and in hot areas constant watering. Excellent perfume. Re-bloomer.Peter Beales considered this as the best hybrid perpetual. Perfect as a hedge, in a fence or a small climber, best in partial shade.
