Patens Group

They are all climbers generally bearing large flowers. They bloom early enough in spring on old wood, but repeat blooming on new wood in late summer or early autumn. Never reaching large size, they are in general suitable to be grown in pots. Almost all belong to the second pruning group. Possibly subject to Clematis wilt and powdery mildew. Planting 5-10 cm deeper than the pot is recommended.
